    Chinese Visa Information

You are responsible for getting your Chinese visa as soon as you book your flight. If there's a Chinese consulate in your city, you can get them from there (although that means spending a whole day waiting in line and then waiting some more the next day or so when you pick it up)

If you don't have that kind of time, you can also use a visa service. Dave used this one last year and it was an easy process:

    Some important notes:

    • Please make sure you have at least 6 months on your US passport. They will not give you a visa if your passport is set to expire in less than 6 months.
    • You should apply for an "L" Tourist class visa. For purpose of visit, easiest to say tourist since you are visiting the Shanghai World Expo. Since it costs the same, it doesn't hurt to ask for a 1 year, multiple entry visa. That way if you visit China again within the year, no need to go through the visa process again.

    See you in Shanghai!
